Most Ugandan girls from extremely poor families miss school because of lacking sanitary towels during their menstruation periods .Because of poverty, parents fail to provide sanitary towels to children and they end up advising them to use rags, papers and other materials which are unhealthy.
Therefore, HILCO foundation increases awareness of menstrual healthy and access to affordable quality reusable sanitary pads which are self made. This will help the teenagers to stay in school and complete education.
